Testing
For students applying in fall 2026, entering fall 2027
Hofstra is test-optional for full-time first-year applicants. If you send SAT or ACT scores, Hofstra superscores all of them; if you apply test-optional, scores already sent are not considered. Scores are required from homeschooled and online high school students, international students whose native language is not English (the TOEFL or the SAT or ACT), Physician Assistant Studies and BS-BA/MD applicants, and Trustee Scholarship candidates. An interview is strongly encouraged without scores, and for some students required.

The Common Data Set marks the SAT or ACT as not required for fall 2027 applicants, but considered if submitted, with scores taken on a rolling basis.
